U of I Indoor Practice Facility
This project consisted of heating and ventilating an indoor football practice field. Over 17 miles of radiant tubing was installed under 111,000 sq. ft. of artificial turf to control the building. The seven stage multi-stack heat pumps use the chilled water systems as a well field to extract heat and transfer it to the radiant tubing at a 150 degree max temperature. The heat in turn cools the water that is rejected back to the chilled water loop so double use is achieved.
